To All Militaria Collectors,

We are currently in the process of completely re-building the site with many new features. We envisage the new site will be in excess of 1000 pages including database features. The free advertising pages will be automated with ads (including photos & searches) on line as soon as they are submitted. (similar to ebay .... but still free advertising) There will also be a Militaria Discussion group, hundreds more photos/descriptions and an exact copy of an Aussies WW1 diary during 1914 - 1915.  The diary alone has taken nearly 18 months to decipher and I hope to have it completed shortly.

There are many other features planned and we would like and encourage you to help.
If you have any suggestions , thoughts regarding what you would like to see on our new web site or would be like to help in the construction please let us know.

• Sale:  Bavarian nco pickelhaube
  Bavarian NCO's pickelhaubewith silver metalwork and "Lions head" chinscale bosses. The kokarden are fixed to the helmet body above the chinscale bosses, it has a non regulation extra tall spike...unusual and typical of Bavarian "oddness" in picklehaube design. If you have the books on the picklehaube by J.A. Bowman, in volume 1 there is a picture of one like it on page 152. I think a reasonable price for it in it's present condition would be about $1,000. Although not in perfect condition, it is still in very good condition and is very rare. I am trying to get a photo of them onto the web in the next few days.
  Baden Pickelhaube
  Reasonable condition pickelhaube, some superficial damage to skull, with excellent brass Baden helmet plate, chinstrap and Reichs kokarden. Lining missing. $650.
  Imperial German Kugelhelm
  A Prussian Artillery Officer's Kugelhelm ("ball top pickelhaube") in superb condition complete with it's original helmet case. It has to be one of the finest example I have ever seen. The leather is still supple and the wear on it is only very superficial on the inside.....silk lining is still in place and the chinscales are perfect. I want £1,950 ($3,000) for it. I saw one go at an auction in London for £3,500 ($5635) (Spinks November 1998) and it was not in as good condition as this one.

• SALE: RAF Full Dress Tunic 1920's with RAF BUSBY Helmet badge and Plume. The tunic and two pairs of pants belonged to Air Chief Marshall Sir Arthur Sheridan Barratt.., KCB,CMG.MC,CdG,CdO,MID's. AOC BAF (British Air Forces in France 1939-40). Member service career expand over 30+ years earning him over 22 decorations and medals. Gentlemen Usher of the Sword of State from 1946 (Keeper of the Sword of the British Empire). This RAF 1920's Full Dress Tunic is in excellent condition with an agulette on the shoulder, large thickly padded RAF pilots wing with King's Crown, in heavy gold & silver bullion. Shoulder straps have heavely padded gold bullion crown and eagles. Full standup collar have heavy gold bullion acorns and leaves with rope boarder, (as per the attached photo's) The tunic was made by Skewes Bro's Ltd, Clare Street & 84 Park Street Bristol, Dated 4.9.24. The tunic comes with two pair's of pants that are both in excellent condition. The first pair has the original leather straps and buckles. The second pair has just a straight leg style of pants. (as per the attached photo's). I have a letter of authonisity attesting to the orgin of the tunic. The RAF Busby is in mint condition with the proper Busby hat badge and plume, (as per the attached photo's) The Busby comes in the orginal can with a metal tube that clips in the lid to hold the plume. • WANTED:  I'm looking to purchase the "large"canvas army troop tents. They are now mainly used at private camps and placed on wooden platforms. The sides roll-up and the front and back door flaps tie back. Main support of the unit is a large wooden beam that runs down the center from back to front and then the corners and sides are tied down to wood stem walls coming off the platform. Usually there are no nets sew into the canvas walls of the tent, because bug protection is done with mosquito nets attached to the bed frames.

  The Military Small Arms of South Australia 1839 - 1901 is the long awaited result of over 20 years research by the well known and respected collector and historian Tony Harris. The book is divided into easy to read well illustrated self contained chapters covering each type of firearm used for military purposes, one on edged weapons, and one on miscellaneous but related arms eg. school cadets and naval. The amount of information on acquisition, marking, use and disposal contained in the book is considerable, especially when one considers the amount research material that the author must have gone through to find it. The end notes and bibliography will attest to this. While the book answers many questions, it poses many more, simply because of the lack of many of the pre federation records (the author has his theory on their disappearance!). It is certain to have collectors grabbing their SA marked items and checking them against the information in the book! The Military Small Arms of South Australia is a must for anyone who calls themselves an arms and militaria collector and resides in South Australia.
